Metallographic structure of Incoloy 825.

825 is a face-centered cubic lattice structure.

Corrosion resistance of Incoloy 825.

Incoloy 825 is a general purpose engineering alloy with resistance to acid and alkali metal corrosion in both oxidizing and reducing environments. The high nickel content provides the alloy with effective resistance to stress corrosion cracking. The corrosion resistance is excellent in a variety of media such as sulfuric, phosphoric, nitric and organic acids, and alkali metals such as sodium hydroxide, potassium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid solutions. 825 alloy's high overall performance is demonstrated by the variety of corrosive media in nuclear combustion dissolvers, such as sulfuric, nitric and sodium hydroxide all handled in the same facility.

Application of Incoloy 825

Incoloy 825 is widely used in a variety of industrial applications where the operating temperature does not exceed 550°C.

1. Heating tubes, containers, baskets and chains for sulphuric acid pickling plants, etc.

2. Seawater cooling heat exchangers, marine product piping systems, acid gas environment piping.

3. Heat exchangers, evaporators, washing and impregnation tubes in phosphoric acid production.

4.Air heat exchanger in petroleum refining.

5.Food engineering.

6.Chemical process.

7.Flame retardant alloy for high pressure oxygen application.
